KUALA LUMPUR: Six performers from the Shanghai Oriental City Dance Troupe took time off yesterday to visit children at Tasputra Perkim, a day-care centre for children with special needs.
The dancers gave up their few hours of rest to pay the centre a goodwill visit before getting ready for their next performance of Wild Zebra, scheduled to go on every night until Aug 3 at Istana Budaya.
Dancer Li Ping, 27, who has been performing for five years in more than 100 shows, said:
“It’s good to come here and spread some cheer to the children; it’s not every day that people come and visit them.”
The performers were introduced to the children and shown around the day-care centre, which includes a physiotherapy room, swimming pool and other facilities for the mentally handicapped.
