We take this opportunity to thank all those who have helped us since November, 1987 for generous donations and fervent support, which has enabled us to care for and make a difference in the lives of hundreds of multiracial children with special needs. For the past 29 years the centre has provided the Highest standard of care for these children.
We have been true practitioners of the 1Malaysia concept since day one, as our special needs children from the age of 2-32 are from all races and religious backgrounds. They live a life of joy with good medical and therapeutic care from our 4 professional therapists as well as trained staff. Their activities include Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Riding For The Disabled, Aqua Therapy, Music and art therapy, Multi Sensory Stimulation, Aroma Therapy Massage, Breathing and not to forget Indoor and Outdoor Spa — as depicted in photos.
This year, our 4 years old pranic healing department is more fruitful as most of the staff have undergone training to help themselves and their families and the children of Tasputra to have better concentration and a more positive life style. One of the staff has gone through to advanced level training within pranic healing. Our Aqua Therapy section has benefited as we have an expert swimming instructor who voluntarily teaches our children.
Staff have also been trained to handle fragile, more severely disabled children who are tube fed. In the afternoons, a session of how to pray is also conducted for a group of children by our Occupational Therapist. One of our most recent achievement includes, toilet training a non verbal visually impaired 7 years old girl.
Since January, 2010 Tasputra has been certified with the Montessori new education technology principles. The International Montessori Society Certificate recognizes our work for special needs children according to the standards of IMS from the USA.
In accordance with the government’s quest, our services play a vital role in responding to the needs of lower income group of parents with special children. Our monthly expenditure is approximately RM50,000.00 per month (inclusive of salaries, EPF, Socso, petrol and maintenance).
